The writing is fabulous as are all her books, and she managed to portray every parent’s worst nightmare in an all too realistic way.  Rachel and James have the perfect life in Bermuda. The perfect house, the perfect son, the perfect housekeeper and the perfect boat. When they wake up from an idyllic night at sea, and the find their son Oscar gone the idyllic life turns into a nightmare from which there is no escape. Can their marriage survive this loss? I have just finished the book with tears in my eyes, but feeling amazing. This will give me a ‘book hangover’ for a while! The Cliff House by Amanda Jennings Started: 7th May 2018 Finished: 13th May 2018 Published: 17th May 2018 Absolutely loved this book. It kept me reading into the night, and at times I really should have been doing other things. It’s not often you read about a local vet affair between a 16 year old girl and a house, but Tamsyn falls in love with the Cliff House because of the wonderful memories of spending time there with her late father. When she meets the family, she feels envy for their seemingly perfect life. However everything is not always what it seems, and Tamsyn gets sucked into relationships which are very unhealthy for an emotionally damaged teenager. Miss Moonshine's Emporium of Happy Endings by various authors Started: 29th April 2018 Finished: 7th May 2018 Published: 18th May 2018 I’m so sorry I have finished this book, I absolutely loved it. Each ‘chapter’ in the book is a completely different story written by a different Author, but you would never know. They all take place in the same beautiful little town called Haven Bridge, where you meet the mysterious Miss Moonshine, her little dog Napoleon and the wonderful Emporium of eclectic items. There the similarities end. The other people you meet in each chapter done re-appear in any subsequent chapters, but nevertheless the story weaves itself together and has a beginning and end of sorts. Although I had more than enough books on my TBR pile the concept intrigued me, and I’m so glad I read it. I would have given this fabulous book more stars if I could have. The Retreat by Mark Edwards Started: 21st April 2018 Finished: 28th April 2018 Published: 10th May 2018 Wow, what a book hangover! Another incredible book by Mark Edwards. If you haven’t read it yet you are in for a real treat - I couldn’t put it down. A writer, mourning the lost of his partner, goes to a writers retreat back in his old home town to complete another book. He doesn’t expect to get involved in the lives of the the other writers, and more importantly in the life of its very beautiful but troubled owner. She is mourning a loss of her own, and he feels he has to do what he can to help. This one will keep you guessing until the end, and will leave you somewhat she’ll shocked. Theo by Amanda Prowse Started: 10th April 2018 Finished: 13th April 2018 Published: 5th April 2018 I loved Anna, but Theo was even better. I would have given it 6 if I could. They always say that there are 2 sides to a story, and it’s so interesting to hear both sides first hand.
