The Passengers by John Marrs Started: 20th December 2018 Finished: 22nd December 2018 Published: 1st April 2019 Well Mr Marrs, you have made me late several times, and I have spent the whole afternoon reading as you have made this book impossible to put down! I have loved all your books, and this is up there with the best of them. So this is set in the future, when most cars are driver-less- not just with some driver-less capability, but no steering wheel, no breaks, nothing. Who hasn’t wondered what would happen in this scenario if things went wrong? A jury of people have been set up to rule over car crashes that happen with these driver-less cars. Whilst they are inherently more safe than manual cars, on rare occasions things happen that prevent everyone in the crash coming out unscathed. A panel is set up regularly to oversee these incidents, and a member of the public is co-opted to the panel, which is how Libby finds herself in a room of people who are obviously not ...

The Girl in the Corner by Amanda Prowse Started: 18th November 2018 Finished:  25th November 2018 Published: 11th December 2018 Amanda Prowse has never disappointed, and this book is no exception. She is the master of taking very true to life situations, adding very believable characters, and coming up with something completely compelling. Rae was the ‘invisible’ girl, content to watch from the sidelines, until she meets her best friend Dolly who is the antithesis of her, full of life and daring. Rae can’t believe her luck, and even more so when Dolly introduces her to her brother Howard who completely sweeps her off her feet. She can’t believe she has married in to this rich, dynamic family where her sister in law is also her best friend, and they all work together. Moving on to their 25th wedding anniversary and Rae’s world is turned upside down. Can their marriage survive the storm? Does she want it to? Totally compelling reading. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Girl-C...

Her Last Move by John Marrs Started: 20th October 2018 Finished: 25th October 2018 Published: 8th November 2018 Well I was late for work today and I am laying the blame squarely at John Marr’s door! I was close to the end and NOTHING was going to make me stop reading. Wow, what a novel. In the best style of John Marrs- brilliant writing, great characterisation and amazing plat lines. There aren’t enough superlatives. The only thing I would have changed is something that happened near the end but that may be just personal preference. Two detectives on the hunt for a serial killer - a particularly sadistic killer, who seems to be picking random people and killing each in a different way. What’s the connection? Who will be next? Can Becca and Joe find the killer before he kills again? The other question is, is he being helped and by whom? Wow, a real ‘must read’ book. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Her-Last-Move-John-Marrs-ebook/dp/B07CGXQH2Q/ref=sr_1_1?s=digital-text&ie=UTF8...

Fatal Promise (DI Kim Stone #9) by Angela Marsons Started: 25th September 2018 Finished: 26th September 2018 Published: 19th October 2018 I love DI Kim Stone. A deeply troubled lady but the one you would want on your side in times of trouble. She and her team are not afraid to think, and act, outside the box. When Dr Gordon Cordell (live the surname), ends up dead, Kim and her team spring into action, however having just lost one of her team in sad circumstances she is struggling to accept his replacement. Can the team pull together to solve the murder? Especially when Gordon’s son dies too, and then 2 more associated people. Can this serial killer be stopped before he kills again? Will Kim Stone be signed off as medically and emotionally fit or is this the end of her career? Angela Marsons has perfect suspense fuelled timing, and you will be on the edge of your seat by the end.  Another amazing Kim Stone book Ms Marsons. Well done. 👍 https://www.amazon.co.uk/Fatal...

In her Shadow - Mark Edwards Started: 16th September 2018 Finished: 25th September 2018 Published: 4th October 2018 Another Mark Edwards masterpiece with the characteristic chill factor. He is the master of weaving a complex plot which will have you on the edge of your seat. Jessica has lived her life in the shadow of her extremely successful older sister Izzy. Izzy seemed to have everything- money, the perfect husband, house and job. Until one day she falls off the balcony and dies - or was she pushed? When Jessica’s daughter starts talking about (and to) her Aunt, and relaying information she can’t know, Jessica wonders if Izzy is trying to tell her something.  Amazing book and highly recommended. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Her-Shadow-Mark-Edwards-ebook/dp/B07CBVH3JZ/ref=sr_1_1?s=digital-text&ie=UTF8&qid=1546810470&sr=1-1&keywords=mark+edwards+in+her+shadow https://www.facebook.com/markedwardsbooks/
