The House Guest by Mark Edwards
Reading the first part of the book is rather like watching Dr Who from behind a cushion - knowing something bad will happen but unable to prevent it, or to prevent watching. It's also like watching a hospital drama where you know someone is going to have a bad accident or become ill and go to hospital, but there's nothing you can do about it. From the first pages in the book you feel totally invested, and you find yourself sneaking off to read 'just a bit more'The story is a true to form Mark Edwards - twisty, turny, riveting, edge of your seat drama. All mixed in with his classic sense of humour, and coming to a satisfying conclusion.
I absolutely loved this book - a very easy 5 stars from me.
